Description

In 2016, Porsche unveiled their updated 991.2 generation 911. This facelift of the classic 911 shape included both new front and rear fascias and a minor interior update- but what really grabbed headlines at the time was the standard turbocharged engine in every model except the GT3. Changed largely for emissions reasons, enthusiasts were hardly thrilled that the revvy, naturally aspirated flat-6 engines Porsche had built its name on were losing much of their character with the addition of turbochargers. It didn't take long for people to get behind the wheel and realize that, in many ways, these turbocharged cars are far superior to the outgoing naturally aspirated 911s. With more power around town, easier passing on the highway and an engine that remains responsive even when the turbos aren't spooled up, the 991.2 featured one of the most flexible engines in 911 history. But what perked up enthusiasts was when tuners got their hands on this new 911. Porsche engines have historically been costly to extract any extra power out of- but turbochargers change all that. A few minor upgrades on the 991.2 powerplant will take your car from a fast car to an absolute monster.

This 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S is a nicely specced example finished in Agate Gray Metallic Over black leather and shows less than 28,000 miles on the odometer. Under the previous owner's care, this Carrera 4S was treated to a suite of performance and visual upgrades that make the car exceptionally fast and help it stand apart from the crowd. The first thing you'll notice as you approach the car is a set of BBS FI-R wheels finished in black- these lightweight forged wheels look outstanding on the car and, if you were to order them today, would require an 18-month wait from BBS. The car has an exceptional stance thanks to a set of Ohlin's Road and Track Coilovers that offer a world-class combination of performance and ride comfort and allow for a wide range of tunability. All exterior badging was changed to black to match the new wheels as were the headlight washer caps. The entire car is ceramic coated and the overall condition is spectacular.

Inside the 911, black extended leather covers nearly every surface, including the seats, dashboard, doors, and steering wheel. The original owner specified the fantastic 18-way adaptive sports seats, which offer comfort and support when heading to the track. Additionally, these seats are fitted with heating and ventilation, so you can always stay comfortable in this 911, regardless of the weather. A Bose Premium Surround Sound stereo was optioned as was the Premium Package, that fits the car with Porsche Dynamic Light System and Auto-Dimming Mirrors. To add a nice bit of contrast to this 911 interior, Guards Red seatbelts were specified for all four seats.

Sitting in the rear of this 911 is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-6 rated from the factory at 420 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. Even when completely stock, this car is exceptionally fast – Car and Driver saw 0-60 in just 3.2 seconds and 0-100 in a mere 7.8 when they tested the Carrera 4S in September 2016. But this car is, without a doubt, even faster. The previous owner worked with Porsche tuners and Pikes Peak racers BBI Autosport in Huntington Beach, CA- a group who know their way around turbocharged Porsches- and made some very high-quality modifications. An IPD Plenum helps the engine flow more air and cuts down on turbo lag, while a BMC cone-type air filter makes for superior filtration and also helps with flow. AMS intercoolers help keep the intake charge cool and are 50% thicker than the standard unit, which helps to reduce heat soak on even the hottest days. In the rear, an Akrapovic exhaust paired with a rear carbon diffuser opens up the engine, and a custom BBI engine map ties everything together on a Cobb tuner. Although we don't have dyno runs to verify the power output of this setup, a 991.2 Carrera S with just an exhaust and the BBI tune alone, saw increases of 35 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque at the wheels, so it is safe to assume this car has gained at least that much.

Between the exterior and mechanical upgrades, the previous owner spent in excess of $30,000 and a significant amount of time modifying this 911 into a truly special car. This Carrera 4S is a perfect 1 car solution for someone who doesn't have the space for a daily driver and fun car but would also be an excellent fit for an enthusiast looking for that special weekend driver.
