Since Audi showed their first RS6 Avant in 2002, it has taken the crown as the ultimate forbidden fruit for American car enthusiasts. A twin-turbocharged V8 combined with a performance all-wheel-drive system and a wagon body made it the ultimate do-everything car that could haul your family and all their stuff while also being able to hang with a 911 Turbo on the highway. Between 2002 and 2019, Audi went on to produce three new generations of the RS6 Avant-none of which were ever brought to the United States. But in 2019, a new RS6 Avant was launched, this one only available as a wagon and finally after years of waiting, destined for the US. Powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, the RS6 featured a host of interesting technology never before seen on an RS Audi. Utilizing a 48V mild hybrid system allows the car to pick up 16 horsepower and makes features like the rear steering and engine start-stop even more seamless. The Quattro all-wheel drive system is rear-biased, starting as a 40/60% split but is also able to move 70% of the power to the front or 85% to the rear if needed. All of these features help the RS6 accelerate from 0-62 in 3.6 seconds and on to 120mph in a mere 12 seconds- a remarkable feat for a 4,740-pound vehicle.

This 2021 RS6 Avant is even more special than the rest as it is one of just 25 “RS Tribue Editions” built for the US market. Specified as an homage to Audi's first RS wagon, the RS2, the RS Tribute Edition features numerous special features not found on other RS6s. The most noticeable change is that all 25 wagons are painted in what has become Audi's most famous color-Nogaro Blue. This iteration is the same base color but integrates a stunning pearl effect that wasn't seen on the original and gives the paint tremendous depth and highlights all of the design intricacies wonderfully. In addition, the Tribute Edition cars all had silver 22” cast aluminum wheels with red brake calipers sitting behind them- another throwback to the RS2 which became known for its Porsche-sourced wheel and brake package where red calipers were also prominently displayed. The Nogaro Blue also follows you inside the car, the Audi Exclusive Valcona S Sport Seats feature blue stitching and once again throwing it back to the RS2, carbon fiber dash accents run throughout the car. A special edition wouldn't be complete without some other desirable option boxes checked, this RS6 has also been equipped with the Bang and Olufsen stereo and all of the exterior trim has been blacked out by the factory. This particular example has been upgraded with a stunning set of multi-piece Rotiform wheels in black that do a great job of harkening back to famous BBSs of the 1990s while still having plenty of modern touches.
