When the RS4 made its way to the United States in 2006, it was set to take on the incoming E90 M3 and Mercedes Benz C63 in a competition for the ultimate sports sedan. Although Audi already had a V8-powered S4 on sale in the US, the RS4 took that formula and turned the dial to 11 when it came to performance, and the work that went into it showed when you got behind the wheel. At the time, the car was applauded for its sure footed driving dynamics and all weather capabilities thanks to the advanced Quattro all wheel drive system that, for the first time, defaulted to sending 60% of the power to the rear wheels. It may not have been quite as nimble as the M3 around a track or as tail happy as the C63 in the turns, but as an all around car, road testers and enthusiasts alike had to agree that it was nothing short of a stunning car.

This 2007 example looks absolutely stunning in its rare shade of Misano Red Pearl and has been enhanced with a list of desirable aftermarket upgrades. It is estimated that Audi brought about 2,000 RS4s into the country and of those, only 110 were finished in this color- and when paired to the silver leather interior, the number is just 13. At the time of writing, this car shows 63,988 miles on the odometer but looks like less than half that judging by the exceptional condition throughout. One of the first things you notice approaching the car is a stunning set of 20” BBS LM wheels that have been ceramic coated and wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires which are lighter than the stock units and the tires help the car stick to the road even more than normal.

The factory Recaro seats are finished in Silver leather- a beautiful warm gray color, the seats feature black piping front and rear and feature 10-way power adjustment in front. All of the trim on the inside is covered in carbon fiber with a deep gloss finish that gives the car a sporty feel inside and looks great. In the center stack, the factory CD player has been disconnected but in its place, a Bluetooth receiver which is far more useful-it is reversible if you want to change it back though.

Under the hood is where things get particularly exciting- a 4.2-liter V8 that is rated at 420 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque, with a particularly flat torque curve that makes it extremely fast in any gear, at any speed. This engine has recently undergone a thorough servicing with a full carbon cleaning, new injectors, spark plugs, ignition coils and more. On this car, the V8 has been upgraded with a GruppeM carbon fiber intake, United Motorsports tune and is capped off with a Custom carbon fiber engine bay cover that makes it look amazing under the hood. Also, to open up the car's exceptional exhaust sound a bit more, JHM Downpipes with high flow cats and an MTM sport exhaust with electronic baffles keep the car quiet when you're driving around town but can be good and loud when you are getting after it.

The RS4 came from the factory with a specially tuned sport suspension- but that doesn't mean that it can't be improved upon, and the previous owner did some serious improvements on this car. Starting with a set of high-dollar KW V3 coil-overs, the upgrades continue with a set of 034 Motorsports adjustable upper control arms and Hotchkis rear sway bar with new links. To stiffen the car up a bit further, a set of 034 Motorsports upgraded motor and transmission mounts are paired to an Apikol rear differential mount so you can be sure that all of the power the car makes is really going to the ground and not lost to soft mounts. Additionally, a JHM short shift kit and Gyrodisc front and rear rotors with EBC Red pads have been installed.

It's easy to see from the condition as well as the long list of costly modifications that this RS4 is a well loved example. Finished in a beautiful color and rare combination, this is a seriously eye catching sedan and will stand out for the high performance Audi that it is.
